We’re officially a B Corporation™!
We’re really proud to be recognised by B Corp, but being certified is just the beginning for us. More than a mark of what we have achieved so far, becoming a B Corp signifies our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and continued transparency on how we operate. We can always do better, be better, advocate more, give back more – and we will take you on our journey as we do so.
We’ll be sharing a little more on what this means for us at Zedify in the coming weeks, so do stay tuned to read about our plans for the future and what this certification means for us as we grow!
For now, we wanted to take this opportunity to share some of our takeaways from looking into the current B Corp standards and how these may change in the coming years. As we future-proof our strategy, we wanted to make sure we’re up to scratch with all the important bits. Carry on reading to brush up yourself!
Why are we brushing up on the new standards?
Since B Lab opened up shop in 2006, the standards have been revised 6 times to make sure that they stay rigorous and relevant. Their upcoming revision, due to be finalised at the end of this year with phased implementation beginning in 2025, has been labeled the ‘biggest transformation in B-Labs history.
Why are the standards changing?
Continuous improvement is fundamental to the B Corp movement, and B Lab recognises that as the climate crisis and social inequalities worsen, bringing systemic change is a no brainer. To meet the magnitude of these challenges, the B Corp Certification standards are being advanced. Our world is changing – from expectations, trends, regulations, to societal and environmental issues – so this change is crucial. B Lab is rising to the challenge and keeping businesses accountable.
So there we go folks – lots to keep on top of!
We hope this article was helpful for you. We’re super excited to be part of the brilliant B Corp community, and looking forward to continuing to get better on this journey ahead. As we said; make sure you watch out for more on how we navigate this! Transparency is key.
Catch you next time.
