London Team Newsletter– March 2022

I would like to start this month off with an apology, sorry this newsletter is so late! As I’m sure most of you were aware, we had absences in the Ops team due to sickness and annual leave, so I was pulled into the depot and other duties. But, better late than never, here is February’s edition of our monthly newsletter…

I want to start with something which I mentioned in the December Newsletter, but a number of people have mentioned that they’re still unclear on it – the Senior Rider pay rate. This is an increase in a rider’s hourly pay if a drop rate of 9+ drops per hour is reliably being hit. The loading and stem time to first drop is not included when this is being calculated, but punctuality and load time are taken into account when considering people for this increase. For more information, please ask a member of the Ops team.

Next up is something I’m really excited about, which is Dan and Matt’s initiative to get the team’s personal bikes back in fine fettle. For those who haven’t heard, if your bike has an issue or just needs routine maintenance, talk to Dan or Matt when you’re next in and they will order the parts needed at trade cost to you, which is generally much cheaper than you’ll get in a shop. Once everyone’s parts have arrived, we’ll pick a Saturday in April for you to come in to fix your bike with the support of Matt and the Maintenance team. The deadline for getting your parts ordered is the end of March, so please make a note to speak to Matt or Dan soon to get your bike looked at and parts ordered.

Speaking of the maintenance team, I want to give them a big shout out, because I’ve seen the general condition of the fleet really improve over the last few months, which has a huge impact on safety, morale and time lost on mechanicals. So a big thanks to Will and the team.

Next up is some client news, as of this week, Grubby are using us on Tuesdays as well as Mondays. So far we’ve done a fantastic job of delivering their vegan food kits and they’re very happy with our service so far, so keep smashing it! And if anyone would like a discount on trying one of their kits, you can get 50% off with this discount on their website – FOUNDER50

Finally, I’d like to say hello to a few new faces along with a fond farewell to some others. New to the team we have Sam, George, Jihad, Abdi and Oliver, so please say hello and introduce yourself to anyone you don’t recognise. Leaving the team is Harry Hazeldean, to find his next challenge and Piers, who’s been riding for us for three years! We wish you both all the very best for the future.

That’s all for this week,

Tom
