Introducing our new partners in crime (or wine), Brunswick Fine Wines.

Brunswick Fine Wines & Spirits is a highly-respected wine merchant and stockholder based in Brighton. It specialises in buying and selling the very finest wines and spirits to local, national and international customers.

Carlos De Haan and Jamie Graham established Brunswick Fine Wines and Spirits in 2016. They saw a need in the market for something new: a bespoke, flexible customer experience for wine and spirits lovers, whether they’re collectors, drinkers, investors, or just curious about wine.

We chatted to Tina Rose from Brunswick about why the company chose to use Zedify for their deliveries.

“Sustainability is a big topic in wine, and we’re always looking for ways to reduce our environmental impact.

We use sustainable packaging wherever possible, so it was a natural evolution to partner with Zedify Brighton. It means we can offer local customers a premium service, for convenience that doesn’t cost the earth.”

Tina is right – sustainability is a huge topic in wine right now. But typically, conversations in this area tend to focus on the organic credentials of the wine itself, rather than the way that it’s transported. Equally, those discussions around transportation tend to narrow in on the supply chain pre-wine order, rather than looking at the emissions contained in the last mile of each delivery.

It’s not only in green transportation that the business is definitely doing things differently. Brunswick Fine Wines is led by true experts with decades of experience. The team know how to source and source they do – only the finest wines and spirits – through their unique network, keeping things as sustainable as they can.

BFW isn’t just a wine shop, either – they’re a real part of the community. The team host regular ‘Meet the Winemaker’ sessions and wine-tasting events, and are proud supporters of Sussex charities The Clock Tower Sanctuary and Table Talk Foundation. As well as having a beautiful retail shop which serves the local community, they have national and international clients who buy, store and sell their wine through Brunswick.

We asked Tina about what’s next for Brunswick Fine Wines.

“We want to raise the profile of or shop and online services. We’re different to other wine merchants – offering so many services – so we want to make sure local customers are aware of what we offer.

In May 2023, Brunswick Fine Wines and Spirits were shortlisted in two prestigious categories at The Drinks Business Awards 2023: Fine Wine Retailer of the Year and Independent Retailer of the Year. We received a special commendation in the Fine Wine category for our place in the Brighton community, and our strategy of making fine wines that are drinking well now, available by the bottle. We think this was an amazing achievement, given we’re a small independent shop which has only been open for just over a year, and we were up against wine giants Majestic and Bordeaux Index.”

We can’t wait to continue our partnership with Brunswick Fine Wines, and look forward to supporting this innovative and independent Brighton business.
